You won’t believe how easy these nuggets are. Like, the easiest “recipe” ever. So simple, that there isn’t really a recipe, and you’re best off just measuring with your heart.
My initial reaction upon tasting these was “wow, they are like McDonalds chicken nuggets!”. Of course, it’s been many years since I actually ate them, so maybe I’m holding onto a childhood memory, but regardless, these are delicious little bites.
Ingredients:
- 1 400g block extra-firm tofu
- Soy sauce or tamari of choice, I use Braggs
- Nutritional yeast
Directions:
- Wrap the tofu in a clean towel and place something heavy on top, like a cast iron pan. Leave for 20 minutes to remove excess water.
- Cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes.
- Lightly drizzle soy sauce over the cubes. You want it flavourful, but not drenched.
- Lightly sprinkle nutritional yeast over the cubes. Toss to coat.
- Place cubes in your air fryer and cook at 375*F for 10-12 minutes.
Serve alongside fries and raw veggies, on salads, or over rice with steamed veggies.
